Thursday Weekly Writing Update

Things are moving along on the first three Earthbound books - here's where things stand.

Blue Planet is getting a final round of editing right now as it goes through a last set of beta readers (should they be called omega readers at this point?). Thankfully, there are very few changes so we are on pace for an early September release.

The trash can: where most of my first draft belongs.

The second book is going through a major first revision. If you watched Tuesday's Facebook Live video, you'll know this is what I do after the first draft is finished. It involves significant re-writes, trashing of major portions of the book, and lots of editing. On the plus side, once these edits are done, I have something that isn't publishable but is definitely readable. I'm about a third of the way through.

Finally, the first draft of the third book is coming along a few words at a time - last week, I got another 5,446 words done. Even better, I've now got enough words that I'm about 20% of the way done with the first draft.

Next week, we're going to have a big announcement on this post - the reveal of the book name for Book 2. So stay tuned!
